FEEL GOOD IN YOUR SKIN

Can skincare cause acne?

In short, the answer is yes.

A lot of traditional skincare products cause a lot of skin issues, including acne due to their extremely harsh ingredients. These harsh ingredients are put in a lot of these skincare products due to their cheap prices, the way the company may want the product to feel and so many other reasons. This is often referred ti as acne cosmetica, which is acne caused by the use of certain cosmetic or skincare products.

Here’s how it can happen:

  • Pore clogging ingredients like silicones, alcohol based products
  • Allergic reactions
  • Overhydration
  • Irritation
  • Poor removal
  • An overgrowth of yeast due to products including high doses of fatty acids which then leads to fungal acne.

The best advice that I can give and that I have personally experienced is to use all natural products that don’t do these things. Some natural products as well like coconut oil also clog pores so it is important to not use those on the face.

Our all natural skincare set has none of these ingredients, they are formulated by experience and science to make your skin clear & healthy. You can check out our skin care set here.

Other things you can do to avoid skincare related acne:

  • Choose non-comedogenic products
  • Match products to your skin type
  • Patch test (extremely important to patch test each and every product you use)
  • Avoid over layering
  • Cleanse properly at the end of each day.

Ingredients that can trigger acne:

  • Coconut oil
  • Lanolin
  • Petrolatum
  • Silicones
  • Algae extracts
  • Fragrances
  • Alcohols
  • Sulfates.

I hope this helps in some sort of way for you to reaching the desired skin you want.

With love,

From Eleganza
