How Growth Helps with Hair Growth

Growth is a unique product. Made with Science, Nature and Results at the forefront of each and every ingredient.

Tested for over three years until it was perfected before launch. A real collision of worlds. Most people, especially the older generation, don’t believe in nature as much as we do now. The science that is coming out now is proving that ‘all natural’ products are in fact the best when it comes to our health & bodies.

From foods to clothes, to skincare and haircare products like ours - everything is reverting to real, natural things. Rather than synthetic materials that we put on/in our bodies, we are starting to use and trust the best of nature. Synthetics are made for machinery, not for us.

Our brand mission is to continue to teach about nature & its wonders whilst using and trusting the arts of science & research to help the world.

Anyways, back to the ingredients that make Growth the best hair oil in the world.

Active Ingredients and what they help with:

Ricinus Communis:

Castor oil, also known as Ricinus Communis has been used for centuries as a hair growth oil due to its amazing properties.

Castor oil is rich in ricinoleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid with anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Ricinoleic acid is believed to help improve blood circulation to the scalp, which can nourish the hair follicles and stimulate hair growth.

Castor oil contains antioxidants that help protect the scalp and hair follicles from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. This antioxidant protection helps maintain the health of the hair follicles and support hair growth.

It also helps with sebum production. An overproduction of sebum will clog hair follicles and cause shedding/breakage. An underproduction of sebum will cause a dry itchy scalp. It is extremely important for the scalp to be balanced in terms of sebum production to allow hair to reach its optimal level.

Amla:

Alma oil is an ancient Indian oil that has been used for centuries (again) for hair growth, as we know, Indians may just have the best hair in the world and this is their secret.

Rich in antioxidants: Amla oil is high in antioxidants, including vitamin C and flavonoids, which help protect the scalp and hair follicles from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. This antioxidant protection can help maintain the health of the hair follicles and support hair growth.

Nutrient-rich: Amla oil contains essential fatty acids, vitamins (such as vitamin E), and minerals that nourish the scalp and hair follicles, promoting healthy hair growth. These nutrients can help strengthen the hair shaft, reduce breakage, and improve overall hair texture and appearance.

Scalp conditioning: Amla oil has moisturizing properties that can help hydrate the scalp and prevent dryness and flakiness, which may contribute to hair loss and hinder hair growth. Additionally, massaging amla oil into the scalp can help improve circulation, promoting the flow of nutrients to the hair follicles and stimulating hair growth.

Anti-inflammatory effects: Amla oil has anti-inflammatory properties that may help soothe and calm the scalp, reducing scalp irritation and inflammation. Inflammation of the scalp can disrupt the hair growth cycle and contribute to hair loss, so reducing inflammation may support healthier hair growth.

Hair conditioning: Amla oil is often used as a natural hair conditioner, helping to soften and smooth the hair shaft, reduce frizz, and enhance shine. Healthy, well-conditioned hair is less prone to breakage and damage, promoting overall hair health and growth.

Nigella Sativa:

Also known as Black Seed Oil, which is derived from the Nigella Sativa plant. This is one of the most influential traditional medicines as the more research that is done on Black Seed, the more medicinal properties that are found. One of which is for hair growth.

Antioxidant properties: Black seed oil contains potent antioxidants, such as thymoquinone, which help protect the scalp and hair follicles from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. This antioxidant protection may help maintain the health of the hair follicles and support hair growth.

Anti-inflammatory effects: Inflammation of the scalp can disrupt the hair growth cycle and contribute to hair loss. Black seed oil has anti-inflammatory properties that may help soothe and calm the scalp, reducing scalp irritation and inflammation and creating a healthier environment for hair growth.

Antimicrobial activity: Black seed oil possesses antimicrobial properties that may help keep the scalp clean and free from bacteria and fungi that could potentially inhibit hair growth or lead to scalp conditions like dandruff.

Stimulation of hair follicles: Some research suggests that black seed oil may have a direct stimulating effect on hair follicles, promoting hair growth. This stimulation may be attributed to its ability to improve blood circulation to the scalp, delivering more nutrients and oxygen to the hair follicles.

Moisturising effects: Black seed oil is rich in fatty acids, such as linoleic acid and oleic acid, which can help moisturise and hydrate the scalp and hair. Proper hydration of the scalp is essential for maintaining healthy hair growth and preventing dryness and flakiness, which can contribute to hair loss.

Peppermint Oil:

In a study done by Toxicological Research in December of 2014, titled: ‘Peppermint Oil Promotes Hair Growth without Toxic Signs’ - The conclusion found was that by week 2, Peppermint Oil promoted more hair growth than Minoxidil and continued doing so over the course of the study.

It is absolutely insane, and I mean insane that big Pharma companies continue to push Minoxidil for hair growth when the medicine was made for the heart. Extreme side effects are also seen with the use of Minoxidil.

Coffee Oil (Caffeine):

Caffeine is a potent inhibitor of PDE. By being a potent PDE inhibitor, it indirectly stimulates IGF 1 which causes an increase in hair growth. In more non scientific terms, it helps stimulate hair follicles and grow hair.

Stimulation of hair follicles: Caffeine has been shown to stimulate hair follicles when applied topically to the scalp. This stimulation can lead to increased hair growth and thicker hair strands.

Prolongation of the anagen (growth) phase: Caffeine has been found to prolong the anagen phase of the hair growth cycle. This means that hair follicles remain in the active growth phase for a longer period, resulting in increased hair growth and overall hair density.

Inhibition of DHT: Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is a hormone derived from testosterone that can contribute to hair loss by shrinking hair follicles. Some research suggests that caffeine may help inhibit the effects of DHT on the hair follicles, potentially reducing hair loss and promoting hair growth.

Improved blood circulation: Caffeine has vasodilating properties, meaning it can widen blood vessels and improve blood flow when applied to the scalp. Better blood circulation to the hair follicles can deliver more nutrients and oxygen, promoting healthier hair growth.

Antioxidant activity: Caffeine is a potent antioxidant that helps protect the scalp and hair follicles from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. This antioxidant protection may help maintain the health of the hair follicles and support hair growth.

Argan:

Argan Oil, which comes from the Kernels of the Argan Tree native to Morocco, is renowned for its various benefits for hair. It is commonly referred to as ‘liquid gold’ due to its amazing properties not only good for hair, but for skin as well.

Moisturizing properties: Argan oil is rich in fatty acids, such as oleic acid and linoleic acid, which can deeply moisturize the hair and scalp. Proper hydration of the scalp and hair helps prevent dryness, breakage, and split ends, promoting overall hair health and growth.

Nourishment for the scalp: Argan oil contains vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals that nourish the scalp and hair follicles. These nutrients help strengthen the hair shaft, improve elasticity, and promote healthy hair growth.

Protection against damage: Argan oil forms a protective barrier around the hair shaft, shielding it from environmental damage, heat styling, and UV radiation. By protecting the hair from damage, argan oil helps prevent breakage and maintain hair strength and integrity.

Anti-inflammatory effects: Argan oil has anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe and calm the scalp, reducing scalp irritation and inflammation. Inflammation of the scalp can disrupt the hair growth cycle and contribute to hair loss, so reducing inflammation may support healthier hair growth.

Improvement in hair texture and appearance: Regular use of argan oil can help improve the overall texture and appearance of the hair, making it smoother, softer, and more manageable. Healthy, well-conditioned hair is less prone to breakage and damage, promoting overall hair health and growth.

Saw Palmetto:

Saw Palmetto is a plant extract derived from the berries of the Serenoa Repens plant - Native to the South East of the United States of America.

Inhibition of 5-alpha-reductase: One of the proposed mechanisms behind hair loss in individuals with androgenic alopecia (male or female pattern baldness) is the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) by the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase. DHT is thought to shrink hair follicles, leading to thinner hair strands and eventual hair loss. Saw palmetto extract is believed to inhibit the activity of 5-alpha-reductase, thereby reducing the conversion of testosterone to DHT and potentially slowing down hair loss.

Anti-inflammatory effects: Inflammation of the scalp can contribute to hair loss by disrupting the hair growth cycle and damaging hair follicles. Saw palmetto has anti-inflammatory properties that may help reduce inflammation in the scalp, creating a healthier environment for hair follicles to thrive.

Hormonal balance: Saw palmetto may help regulate hormonal levels, particularly testosterone and its derivatives like DHT, which are associated with hair loss. By balancing hormones, saw palmetto extract may help mitigate the effects of androgenic alopecia.

Antioxidant activity: Saw palmetto contains antioxidants that help protect the scalp and hair follicles from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. This antioxidant protection may help maintain the health of the hair follicles and support hair growth.

Stimulation of hair follicles: Some research suggests that saw palmetto may have a direct stimulating effect on hair follicles, potentially promoting hair growth. This stimulation may be attributed to improved blood circulation to the scalp, delivering more nutrients and oxygen to the hair follicles.

Pumpkin Seed:

Pumpkin seed oil, derived from pumpkin seeds, is a natural remedy that has been suggested to promote hair growth and support hair health.

Nutrient-rich composition: Pumpkin seed oil is rich in nutrients that are beneficial for hair health, including vitamins (such as vitamin E and vitamin K), minerals (such as zinc and magnesium), and essential fatty acids (such as omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids). These nutrients nourish the scalp and hair follicles, promoting healthy hair growth and improving hair texture and strength.

DHT-blocking properties: Like saw palmetto, pumpkin seed oil may help inhibit the activity of 5-alpha-reductase, the enzyme responsible for converting testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is associated with hair loss in individuals with androgenetic alopecia (male or female pattern baldness). By reducing DHT levels, pumpkin seed oil may help prevent hair follicle shrinkage and hair loss.

Antioxidant effects: Pumpkin seed oil contains antioxidants, such as carotenoids and tocopherols, which help protect the scalp and hair follicles from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. This antioxidant protection may help maintain the health of the hair follicles and support hair growth.

Anti-inflammatory properties: Inflammation of the scalp can disrupt the hair growth cycle and contribute to hair loss. Pumpkin seed oil has anti-inflammatory properties that may help soothe and calm the scalp, reducing scalp irritation and inflammation and creating a healthier environment for hair follicles to thrive.

Moisturizing effects: Pumpkin seed oil is emollient and moisturizing, helping to hydrate the scalp and hair. Proper hydration of the scalp is essential for maintaining healthy hair growth and preventing dryness, breakage, and split ends.

Aloe Vera:

Aloe vera, a succulent plant known for its soothing and moisturizing properties, is often used in hair care products and home remedies for promoting hair growth and improving hair health. Here are several ways in which aloe vera may benefit hair:

Scalp health: Aloe vera contains enzymes that can help cleanse the scalp by removing excess oil and dead skin cells, which may clog hair follicles and inhibit hair growth. A clean and healthy scalp is essential for optimal hair growth.

Moisturising properties: Aloe vera gel is rich in water content, which helps hydrate the scalp and hair. Proper hydration is crucial for maintaining healthy hair and preventing dryness, breakage, and split ends.

Scalp inflammation: Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe and calm an irritated or inflamed scalp. Inflammation of the scalp can disrupt the hair growth cycle and contribute to hair loss, so reducing inflammation may support healthier hair growth.

Antimicrobial effects: Aloe vera contains compounds with antimicrobial properties that can help keep the scalp clean and free from bacteria and fungi, which could potentially inhibit hair growth or lead to scalp conditions like dandruff.

Promotion of hair growth: While scientific evidence is limited, some studies suggest that aloe vera may promote hair growth. It is believed that the proteolytic enzymes in aloe vera gel may stimulate dormant hair follicles, leading to increased hair growth.

Strengthening and conditioning: Aloe vera contains vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that nourish the hair and strengthen the hair shaft. This can help reduce breakage and improve overall hair texture and appearance.

Rosemary:

In a research study published in February of 2015 titled: ‘Rosemary Oil vs Minoxidil 2% for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia: A randomised comparative trial’ - The conclusion found was that after 6 months of use, both Rosemary Oil and Minoxidil 2% saw the same amount of increased hair count on participants of the trial.

Rosemary oil helps promote hair growth and improve overall hair health through several mechanisms:

Improved blood circulation: Rosemary oil contains compounds that have been shown to stimulate blood circulation when applied to the scalp. Better blood flow can deliver more nutrients and oxygen to the hair follicles, promoting healthier hair growth.

Stimulation of hair follicles: Rosemary oil has been found to promote the proliferation of dermal papilla cells, which play a crucial role in hair follicle formation and growth. By stimulating the hair follicles, rosemary oil may help promote hair growth and prevent hair loss.

DHT-blocking properties: Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is a hormone derived from testosterone that can contribute to hair loss by shrinking hair follicles. Some research suggests that rosemary oil may help inhibit the activity of 5-alpha-reductase, the enzyme responsible for converting testosterone into DHT. By reducing DHT levels, rosemary oil may help prevent hair loss and promote hair growth.

Antioxidant effects: Rosemary oil contains antioxidants that help protect the scalp and hair follicles from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. This antioxidant protection may help maintain the health of the hair follicles and support hair growth.

Anti-inflammatory properties: Inflammation of the scalp can disrupt the hair growth cycle and contribute to hair loss. Rosemary oil has anti-inflammatory properties that may help soothe and calm the scalp, reducing scalp irritation and inflammation and creating a healthier environment for hair follicles to thrive.
